Activity 1

Write the correct answers from the given alternatives:

Activity 2

Answer the following questions :

a) What were the pirates doing when Bhola Grandpa saw them?

Answer : When Bhola Grandpa saw the pirates, they were burying a large box under one of the sand dunes on the seashore.

b) Why did people move in groups, particularly after sundown?

Answer : People moved in groups particularly after sundown as there was a fear of Royal Bengal Tiger.

Activity 3

Change the mode of narration of the following sentences :

a) Raka said to her sister, "Will you go to the library tomorrow?"

Answer : Raka asked her sister if she would go to the library the next day.

b) Mr. Roy says, "My nephew is very good at sports."

Answer : Mr. Roy says that his nephew is very good at sports.

c) My grandmother said to me, "May you live long."

Answer: My grandmother blessed me that I should live long.

Write a story (in about 100 words) using the following hints. Add a suitable title to the story.

Hints : art competition - participants include three artists - one draws a bunch of flowers, another some fruits, third draws a curtain - bees sit on the flowers - birds come to eat fruits - curtain deceives the judges - third artist wins the prize

The Real Artwork

    Once in a state called Aldas, there lived three great artists who could draw paintings which was really hard to determine whether they were real or drawings. There was always a debate about the best one of them. So, the king arranged a drawing competition to determine the best artist of his state. In the competition, all the three renowned artists took part. They tried their best to make the drawing look more and more realistic. The first one of them, drew a bunch of flower which attracted some nearby bees. The second artist drew some fruit which looked so real that even some birds came to eat those drawing. Finally the king, in form of the judge, came in front of the drawing of the third artist where he saw none but a curtain. With the idea to find the real drawing under the curtain, the kind tried to pull it but he found that the curtain was itself the drawing. Being really impressed with the drawing, the king declared the third artist as the winner.
